Happy Aloha Friday!
I’ve been asked hundreds of times if I provide meal plans and the short answer is no. The reason that I don’t like to give individualized meal plans with portion sizes is because it is too rigid and unsustainable.
A good meal plan allows you to be flexible, spontaneous, and intuitive. So rather than me telling you to “eat this, not that” or asking you to prep two sheet pans of chicken for the week, I’m going to give you some of my favorite tips to keep meal planning easy, sustainable, and fun!
Here is my first tip!
Plan “theme nights”.
Having theme nights will keep your meal planning simple and consistent week-to-week. You want to make sure that these are foods you enjoy, because otherwise you’ll do it once and not want to do it the following week. This is also really helpful if you are struggling with adequate variety in your recovery or if you have a specific fear meal that you want to desensitize. Some examples may include: Taco Tuesdays, Pasta Wednesdays, Pizza Fridays, and Salad Bar Sundays. Remember, those leftovers make great lunch for the next day!
