In the month of May, I want to talk about the functions of food. Did you know that food serves more functions than just energy?
In order to live our best life, we should choose from a wide variety of foods and eat them regularly. And of course, we need to be aware of our psychological and social need for food as well. Do not forget that we should enjoy the food we eat; it should look, smell, and taste good!
Here are some basic physiological functions of food!
Stay alive, be active, move and work
Build new cells and tissues for growth
Prevent and fight infections
