Taking a break from movement can be scary, even when you know that break is medically and even psychologically crucial. There can be a lot of “what ifs”, such as “what if I lose all of my muscle” or “what if I never want to do movement again”.
These fears are totally normal, and often it's what keeps us stuck in eating disorder rituals. I want to remind you that taking a break from movement may be the bravest thing you do in your recovery, and regardless if your body changes from it, it is important that you take that break anyway.
I love this picture below from Glennon Doyle, “Your body is not your art. It’s your paintbrush”. We are not put on this earth to make our body smaller, and I believe this picture is a good reminder of that.
