You don’t have to start from scratch

Happy Aloha Friday!

If you have a goal this year of cooking at home more, getting to the grocery store, and building up your recipes, then I have some great tips for you!

Tip #1: Don’t start from scratch when grocery shopping. Before heading to the grocery store, look in your fridge/pantry and see what you already have. This makes it easy to plan your meals around these foods! Also, you can use up any extra produce/food that may go bad soon.

Tip #2: Build your pantry. Make sure that you have all the basics you may need for cooking. Items such as rice, pasta, marinara sauce, coconut milk, cooking oils, spices/seasonings, etc. This way you always have the foundations of a good meal.

Tip #3: Start collecting recipes. Buy a recipe box and start writing down the recipes that you like. This way, if you don’t know what to have for the week, you can look through it and build a grocery list around it.

Tip #4: Go to the grocery store with a list. This is especially important if you have anxiety going to the grocery store. Making a list prior to heading to the store will ensure that you get everything you need, and that you won’t forget an important aspect of a meal you plan on making. This doesn’t mean you can only get what is on your list, but that it is just a list of the things that you need and can’t forget.

I hope this was helpful and I can’t wait to hear back from you once you give it a try!
